 Working Overseas in Puerto Rico as a Licensed ArtesanWhile I toiled in my office, I dreamt of living my life as an artist, which was my hobby. One day I turned that dream into a reality, but not how I expected at all. In the mid-90's, my mid-life crisis took me to the Caribbean, where I lived and worked on a 33-foot trawler named Ruff Life. I turned my painting hobby into a business, creating functional art from an unlikely source: gourds. Eventually I became a licensed artesan, and trust me when I say it wasn't so easy when I could barely say hola at the time. You Don't Have to Live in Puerto Rico to Learn a New Way of Life
