This piece is called "Safari Carousel...a tribute". The general idea was conceived several years ago, but I did not begin painting in earnest until we were all shocked by news of the untimely death of Steve Irwin, that charasmatic, nutsy, gutsy Crocodile Hunter, in 2006.
